Gill has a wide range of teaching experience across the middle and primary age range in Newcastle and North Tyneside schools.

Leadership roles included Literacy leader, SENCo and deputy headteacher, completing the NASCo award and NPQH in 2011.

Previously a team leader for the STA marking process and LA moderation manager, she is now strategic moderation manager ensuring that the statutory obligations are met.

Gill joined the Education North Tyneside service in 2012 as primary Literacy advisor, with a passion for improving expertise in the teaching of reading and creating lifelong learners. Collaboration with our schools on curriculum and assessment initiatives have made a difference and our bespoke research-based approach has secured sustained improvement over time.

Gill has a strong track record in working with headteachers, colleagues and stakeholders to support schools to improve so that they no longer need Raising Achievement Groups and are successful in inspection. She has extensive leadership experience as a school development partner across North Tyneside. Working in school improvement is a privilege, collaborative & challenging: no two weeks are the same, but the drive to improve outcomes for all pupils, especially those who are disadvantaged, is a golden thread.
