You can trust the safeguarding training in education service to provide your school with easily accessible, high-quality safeguarding training to meet your needs. We will support you to ensure that your school is compliant with local and national safeguarding guidance at all times.

As our training is endorsed by North Tyneside Safeguarding Children Partnership (NTSCP) you can be confident  that it is always current and responsive to local and national priorities. The bespoke training is recognised as a part of the wider safeguarding agenda within North Tyneside, which promotes that all organisations safeguard and promote the welfare of children as outlined in statutory legislation and guidance.

What does our service provide?

The safeguarding training in education service has developed a trusted reputation providing a high standard of safeguarding training which is flexible with frequent availability. This robust approach will be enhanced by the expertise of ex-HMI in training delivery.
Timely safeguarding training reminders are provided to schools through a comprehensive training needs database, ensuring schools are compliant with local and national safeguarding guidance at all times.
We provide the following:

  • Whole school child protection training every 3 years delivered in school by the safeguarding training and development officer.
  • Child protection training (monthly via Teams and bookable via www.educationservices.org.uk) to ensure accessibility for staff who have missed whole school training or are new to school.
  • Access to a bespoke safeguarding e-learning module for North Tyneside School staff.
  • Termly designated safeguarding lead briefings to ensure skills and knowledge can be kept up to date regularly.
  • Termly safeguarding e-bulletin/newsletter to all Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).
  • Access for all Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to child protection training as part of their induction programme in North Tyneside schools.
  • Safeguarding training for governors.
  • The provision of current training resources and materials so designated safeguarding leads can undertake sessions to ensure regular safeguarding updates for their staff.
  • Access to various templates that can be adapted for schools to use, such as posters and flowcharts for staff rooms and public areas.
  • New to role designated safeguarding lead training.
  • Access for DSLs to relevant North Tyneside Safeguarding Children Partnership (NTSCP) multi-agency safeguarding training.
  • Circulation of information on local and national issues including serious case reviews.
  • A dedicated email for safeguarding queries that is checked daily by Education North Tyneside.
  • Unique expertise from officers and close links to safeguarding within the local authority.

Moving forwards, there is an enhanced option to embed robust safeguarding through a longer collaboration with Education North Tyneside “Transforming safeguarding compliance into culture in school” as part of the Leadership and Management Service Level Agreement.
