Education North Tyneside Early Years Conference
The Education North Tyneside Annual Early Years Conference was held on 28th March at The Linskill Centre. 100 delegates attended from across North Tyneside, from regional authorities and North East Combined Authority.
Speakers
The keynote speaker was early years consultant and expert Ruth Swailes. Workshops were led by New York Primary School, Shooting Stars Childcare, St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School and Western Community Primary School.
Workshops covered a wide variety of current topics including:
- early maths within provision and routines,
- developing the effective use of visuals in provision,
- transforming provision on a limited budget,
- promoting risk taking and independence in provision and adaptive teaching in provision
Conference focuses
The conference focused on strategies for designing and delivering high quality, effective continuous provision, which fosters progression and promotes holistic skill development in early years settings/schools.
North Tyneside teams and services attended, giving advice and support throughout the day; Portage and Pre School Home Teaching Service, the Early Years Inclusion Service, Parent/Carer Forum, Educational Psychology Service, Early Years Communication Outreach Team and the Early Years advisers for settings and schools were all in attendance.
