Early Years Cluster Meetings

Our Education North Tyneside Early Years Team lead termly cluster meetings and all educators and leaders in early years are welcome to attend.

Local schools sharing their practice

The meetings are hosted by our schools and they kindly all lead an agenda item about an aspect of current practice in their school. The wider agenda reflects local and national priorities and with a current focus on Best Start in Life.

Recently, our special schools hosted the cluster meetings and educators benefited from hearing about their use of visuals, how they have developed their curriculum and seeing their sensory rooms. Feedback included development of “Practice in supporting SEND children following conversation with Woodlawn early years lead” and learning about “Occupational Health toolkit training and sensory training for T.As”.

Last year, four schools showcased their great work with the Early Years Partnership, sharing how in school support and the training programme has helped them to meet the wide ranging needs of children in their school.

Host schools are always incredibly welcoming and enable delegates to look around their provision, share good practice and take ideas away. This term St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary, Backworth Park Primary and Rockcliffe First Schools are hosting our meetings with the fourth session online.
