Rebecca Sowden is a qualified teacher with a range of leadership experience and a background in early years leadership and school improvement.
As a school improvement advisor for early years, Rebecca provides guidance for developing language-rich learning environments that prioritise early language and communication development. She offers effective support and training regarding high quality interactions, writing and Launchpad for Literacy.
Rebecca is a Research Associate working with the PLACES project and an affiliated trainer for the 3A Abecedarian Approach which develops staff expertise through training and coaching opportunities. She is a Visiting Fellow for the NPQ in Early Years Leadership and recently achieved the NPQ Leading Teacher Development qualification at Masters Level.
Her recent early years leadership role involved implementing the revised EYFS framework, developing action plans and measuring impact. In school, she enjoyed subject leadership in History, Geography and Careers. Rebecca has a passion for developing early language through meaningful contexts.
