The Magic of Maths
On Wednesday 20th May 2026, thousands of children across North Tyneside will once again come together for a spectacular celebration of mathematics at the second Big Maths Party.
This year’s theme, 'The Magic of Maths', invites pupils to experience the joy, wonder and creativity at the heart of mathematics — and the event is completely free for all schools.
Building on last year’s success, when “the event aimed to ignite a passion for mathematics among students”, this year’s celebration encourages children to see maths not just as a subject, but as something truly enchanting. Throughout the day, pupils will explore number tricks, surprising patterns, and fabulous mathematical facts they can use to wow friends and family
